Be the practice patients find first.

JAWC is a marketing agency that works with medical and dental practices across the United States. Your marketing should help patients understand the care you offer and feel comfortable choosing your practice.

We manage SEO, paid advertising and websites for medical practices, helping you attract new patients and turn more inquiries into appointments. We track where those inquiries come from so you can see how your marketing is performing.

Why practices call us

What’s getting in the way of more appointments?

We help practices improve their visibility and bring in more appointments. These are some of the issues we look for.

  • Patients search for the care you offer, but other practices show up first.
  • Your practice’s name and address do not match across online listings.
  • Patients have trouble finding your newest provider by name.
  • Your reviews are good, but you have not had a new one lately.
  • The services you want to grow get little attention on your website.
  • Your reports show inquiries, but not how many become appointments.

The appointment is going in somebody's book. Whether it goes in yours is something the search already answered.
What we run

How we market your practice

Local SEO, paid ads, web design and development, and reporting, all focused on bringing new patients to your practice. Practices that want their social profiles kept current can add our social media management.

WHERE PATIENTS COME FROM
How far somebody will travel depends on what they are coming for. So the area is drawn to the treatment, not to the map.
Patient travel

Local SEO.

We improve your Google Business Profile, website and local listings so patients can find your practice when they search for care in your area. Our guide to SEO for doctors and practices shows how we plan around treatments, providers, and locations. The AI answers are checked as well: when someone asks which practice nearby to call, we look for yours in the reply.

Same-day care

We manage paid search around the services you want to grow, helping you reach patients looking for that care and make the most of your advertising budget.

Clear reporting on your marketing.

Clear reports show where patient inquiries come from and how your marketing is performing. We explain the results and the changes we are making to help your practice grow.

Which practices this is for

Practices where the patient picks the provider and makes the first call themselves.

We work where the patient chooses the practice themselves:

  1. Med spa and aesthetics
  2. Holistic and integrative medicine
  3. Dental and orthodontics
  4. Chiropractic
  5. Physical therapy
  6. Optometry
  7. Dermatology
  8. Mental health and therapy practices
  9. Doctors' offices and primary care
The path

What happens when we start marketing your medical practice

How quickly this moves depends on your practice and the local competition for your specialty. The steps don't change.

  1. Step 1: First, where the patients come from now.

Referral, search, reputation, or the sign outside. The split is often a surprise, and it decides where the budget should go.

  2. Step 2: Then fix what is broken.

Usually that is a profile missing details for some locations and providers, a site laid out by department that does not match what patients search for, and nothing tracking an inquiry through to a booked appointment.

  3. Step 3: Then build by treatment.

The treatments you want more of, in the order you want them, which is a clinical and commercial decision, and it is yours.

  4. Monthly

Step 4: Then report and adjust.

Against the baseline taken at the start.

How medical practice marketing is priced

Five things decide what a practice pays, and each one is listed below. We'll review your practice, and you'll have the price in writing before you say yes.

  • Locations and providers. Each location needs its own profile and coverage. Each provider is searched for by name and needs to be findable.
  • How many treatments you want to promote. We plan the work around how many treatments you want covered in detail.
  • How much local competition your specialty has. Dermatology in a big city and optometry in a small city take different amounts of work to compete in.
  • The state of the site. Improving your practice's current website costs less than replacing it.
  • Whether you run Google Ads. The practice pays Google directly for its ads, and we never add a markup. Our fee for managing them is quoted as a separate number.

How to choose a marketing agency for a medical practice

Ask any agency, us included, who owns the accounts and what the ads cost.

Your practice's marketing agency should have an answer to each of these.

Ask these of whoever handles your practice's marketing today, and of anyone you are thinking of hiring.

Can they show you last month's calls and forms, one by one?

Traffic and rankings tell you people are finding the practice. The report should tell you what came of it: every call and form, and where each one came from.

Who owns the accounts

Does the practice own its website, domain and accounts?

Ask before signing. Website, domain, ad accounts and tracking should be in the practice's name from the first day, and they should stay there when the relationship ends.

Ad spend with Google Agency monthly fee

Are ad spend and management fee shown as separate lines?

Ask for both numbers every month: what funded the ads and what paid for the work. Without both numbers, you cannot judge either one on its own.

This month's work

Does the practice get this month's work list in writing?

You should have a clear list of what is being done for the practice this month. Without it, you cannot tell what you are paying for or when the plan changed.

Flagged this month

Will they tell you what needs to improve?

A good report says what fell short, what we learned, and what changes next month, not just which numbers went up.

An honest comparison

Three ways practices get marketed, side by side.

Practices usually choose between a patient acquisition platform, a marketing company that runs the whole thing, or referrals and whatever the sign outside brings. All three work for somebody. They differ in what the practice owns at the end.

What to compareJAWC A patient platform Referrals only
Where the patients come from People searching for the treatment, near you A patient the platform found, shared with others Patients another provider sent
Who the patient thinks they chose You. They found your name The platform. Your name is one of a list You, and that is its strength
What you keep The site, the pages and the accounts stay yours It stops that day, with nothing left over Nothing changes, which is the point
The elective treatments Built treatment by treatment Whatever the platform routes Rarely what a referral is for
Growing on purpose Add a location, add the profile, add the pages Spend more, get more of the same Hard to speed up when you need to
What you can see How many inquiries became a booked appointment What you were charged Very little, honestly

Referrals are the strongest of the three. They are just not something you can turn up when a treatment line goes quiet.

What people could find

352

search terms the practice ranked on page one for in the closing month, against 214 in the opening month

Where those 352 sat on the page

  • Position one54(15%)
  • Positions two and three30(9%)
  • Positions four and five89(25%)
  • Positions six to ten179(51%)

347 of those 352 search terms were not the practice's name. They were people looking up a treatment, a symptom or a hormone, who had no idea the practice existed until it came up.

Treatment searches are what moved

347

of the closing month's page-one search terms were for a treatment, not the practice

Search terms naming the practice never moved. They sat between five and seven in every one of the thirteen months, which is what you would expect from a practice that people already knew about.

Every bit of the growth came from the other column. That is the difference between being easier to find for people who already have your name and being findable at all by people who do not.

What it added up to

397 at the peak

86 percent more page one search terms than the practice started with

It finished on 352, still 64 percent up on where it started, and every point of that gain came from people searching for a treatment. None of it came from searches for the practice by name. Those are the people who did not know it existed yet. Now the practice is one of the answers they get.

Why medical practices hire us

The people you speak with on the first call run the practice's account and write its monthly report.

  • You see the channel behind every call.

Each call and form on the report carries the channel that brought it in, so you know where the calls are coming from before you spend another dollar.

  • One plain report, every month.

What came in, what each channel cost, what changed, and what we are doing next, in plain numbers the whole practice can read. The same format on every plan.

  • The practice owns everything.

Domain, website, ad accounts, Google profile and tracking are in the practice's name from day one, and they stay there.

Questions practices ask

If your practice has a question we left out, ask us on a call.

An exam room counter run with a small autoclave, a blue parts cabinet, a sink with soap and hand sanitizer, a sharps container and a paper towel dispenser, a paper covered exam table and a rolling stool in the foreground

Makes your practice findable when a prospective patient searches for what you treat, credible when they compare you against two others, and easy to book with. For practices whose patients arrive by referral, we start by finding the elective or self-pay side, because that is where search does its work.

It scales with locations, providers and how much local competition your specialty has. We will tell you what your specialty costs in your area before you commit.

Often yes, but not in the way you would expect. Most referral-led practices also have a self-pay or elective line running alongside, and that is where the marketing belongs. We find that split first and point the work at the half that searches, which is usually the higher-margin half as well.

No. There is no government HIPAA certification to hold. The Department of Health and Human Services states plainly that it does not endorse or recognize private “certifications” regarding the Security Rule, and its Office for Civil Rights warns directly about marketing that implies government approval of HIPAA products and services.

What matters is a specific answer about what happens to an inquiry: where it is stored, who can see it, and what is passed to advertising platforms. We will give you that answer in writing.

You do. Domain, site, content, ad account, profile and tracking, in every case, and the Google profile in particular, because it carries your reviews.

No. Google bills the practice directly for ad spend, with no markup from us. Our management fee is quoted on its own.

Know where patients look before they book

Before you commit to anything, we will map your current patient sources, show you what your specialty costs to compete for in your area, and tell you which treatments are worth building out first.

You get that whether or not you go any further with us.

What we check

  • Where you come up for your treatments, location by location
  • Whether your profile makes booking the obvious next step
  • Whether AI answers name your practice for those treatments
  • Whether each of your providers is findable by name
